Waterscapes - Sluice in Duck Creek

Sluice in Duck Creek is a 15 x 15 oil on panel, part of Winter in Wellfleet Collection. Rich colors and a textural application of paint create the image of snow collecting around an ageing sluice, once employed to regulate the flow of tidal water. Salty pools break through the ice as sea water is drawn by an outgoing  tide.
