Painting - Captain Higgins' Boat Yard

Captain Higgins' Boat Yard is a 11 x 14 oil on panel with weathered wood frame hand built by the artist of locally resourced wood. Captain Higgins was a very active shellfish shop and boat yard in Wellfleet for many years. Circa 1935.

Not only did he sell local oysters, he carried little necks, cherry stones and quahogs,  mussels and scallops. He was a a bait shop and convenience store for fishermen as well.
