Cape Cod Map with Monster Seals is  8.5 x 8.5 oil painting on panel is an imagined map of Cape Cod attacked by three monstrous walruses. In ancient times, to keep navigators from sailing off the edge of the world, cartographers added frightening creatures. These "monsters" became so popular that even after it was proven the world was round, they could be added to maps just for pure enjoyment. Framed with weathered wood strips.
