Description
C. Cod Monster Map is a 10 x 10 oil on panel painting with five imaginary monsters. To keep navigators from sailing their vessels off the edge of the world, monsters were added as a warning. These "monsters" became so popular that even after it was proven the world was round, they could be added to maps just for pure enjoyment. Framed with weathered wood strips.
