This painting is 14 x 18 oil on canvas depicts three Blue Bottles, also known as Portuguese Man O'War because they resemble an18th Century Portuguese warship under full sail. These three washed up on a beach in Florida. A species closely related to jellyfish, they float like a balloon; their long strand tentacles are deadly and capture prey by paralyzing them. Framed by the artist in weathered wood strips. Beachcombers beware, even washed-up on shore, do not touch, their sting can still pack a wallop.
