Description

Sam Bellamy's Cat "Scratch" is an acrylic plaster sculpture mounted on an authentic lobster pot buoy. Every ship has its mouser, and after years of successful mouse chasing despite a peg leg, Scratch wears a key to the food locker and has earned a daily mug of rum.

This sculpture was a feature at the Whydah Pirate Museum in Provincetown 2018-2021. The coin Scratch is holding is a reproduction from Bellamy's treasure. The real coins from the Whydah galley which wrecked in 1717 off Wellfleet, are on view at the Whydah Pirate Museum in Yarmouth.
